The Peruvian Clothing
Peru is known for wondeful clothing, vibrant colors, and warm people. The most famous Peruvian clothing is the "alpaca sweater ". The alpaca sweater is typically made from alpaca wool. Peruvian artisans have perfected the art of making clothing and as a result there are so many different types of Peruvian clothing available. From alpaca wool to high quality cotton such as Pima cotton, Peru has the natural resources to produce some of the worlds top clothing.
Peruvian Clothing ranges from completely handmade, either crochet clothing or knit clothing, or machine made either via a traditional loom or machine produced. Peruvian clothing is either 100% alpaca, 100% baby alpaca, or alpaca blended with acrylic. Peruvian clothing is commonly blended acrylic to pick up the warmth of the alpaca wool while maintaining a hypoallergenic, non-itchy benefit, and an easy to care for clothing item. Since children can have allergy to 100% alpaca wool, children's clothing is rarely 100% pure alpaca and usually is a 30/70 blend (alpaca/acrylic).
Peru is well known for its skills with handmade crochet clothing and knit clothing. We are so impressed when we travel to Peru and meet the artisans making the clothing we sell on "Peruvian-Clothing". Often times the artisans will be busy making clothing while we are talking with them. The artisans are so skilled with the crochet needlework.
